A “Hand-Up” not a Hand-Out
Habitat houses are purchased by low-income families at affordable prices, thanks to volunteer labor, the support of community organizations, donation of land, and Habitat’s no-profit, no-interest mortgages. Family partners are chosen without regard for race, religion or ethnicity, and must be legal U.S. residents as well as residents of Ventura County for at least one year.
