Getting Ready for W. Stroube St. in Oxnard

As the new Habitat homes in Piru are being completed, we are now getting ready to build more new, affordable homes in Oxnard!  Next month, Habitat for Humanity of Ventura County will begin construction of two single family residences on West Stroube Street.  Theses Habitat single story homes will have 4 BR/2BA and are located next to the new River Park development and just across the street from Vineyards Park.

Two deserving families have already been selected and will be able to move out of poverty housing and into decent shelter.  After completing the rigorous 5 month family selection process, they were approved as buyers of HFHVC’s next Habitat Homes.  While the families will help build their own homes by completing the required Sweat Equity Hours, they will also participate in HFHVC’s Homeowner Education Program.

“We are very excited about building these new Habitat homes in Oxnard”, said Stacy Swanson, Executive Director of Habitat for Humanity of Ventura County.  “Thanks to many generous sponsors and wonderful volunteers, we will help bring the dream of home-ownership one step closer for 2 more families”.

Are you interested in participating with us and making a difference?  Whether you’re an individual, a family, church or business, you can give a hand up to these families in need.  Sign up to volunteer on the construction site by clicking:
