Construction Update For May 8th
|
Simi Valley - Construction continues to move right along. We have completed the sheeting on both houses and are now waiting for the trusses to be delivered. There may be a temporary slow down in the coming weeks as we wait for multiple permit approvals. If you or your group is asked to reschedule their work date, please be understanding. Thanks again to all of you who have put in time to get us back on track!
Oxnard - A group of volunteers from the Oxnard branch of H & R Block cleaned up our lot to get it ready for the grading process. Many thanks to them for the great job that they did. The Mayor of Oxnard, Tom Holden will be on site Tuesday, May 13th at 1:00 PM to celebrate the continuing improvements in the La Colonia neighborhood.
Santa Paula - Our lot at 145 Ojai Street needs to be cleared of weeds, brush and debris. Any person or group who would like to help us with this project should contact Matt @ 805-485-6065, ext. 105.
Special Volunteer Recognition!!

On behalf of the Board of Directors and the entire Staff here at Habitat for Humanity of Ventura County, we would like to recognize the efforts of Steve Shaw. Steve started volunteering with Habitat this past January, but already has put in over 125 hours at the Simi Valley worksite. Steve decided to change careers at the end of last year and is interested in becoming a licensed contractor. He volunteers at least three times per week and has become the newest member of the Wednesday Crew. His dedication and hard work have helped us out of some tough spots over the last few weeks. Thanks Again Steve for volunteering so much time with us!! We appreciate your help and support!!
