Ventura “Preserve a Home” Dedication January 30th

This is the second preservation completed this year in the City of Ventura under Habitat’s “Preserve a Home” program – thanks to the efforts of hundreds of volunteers, businesses, local students, and a Community Block Development Grant (CDBG) from the County of Ventura.  The home is located at 11394 Nardo Street, Ventura, CA 93004.

Faustino Acosta, a widow and single parent, will now enjoy a safe and comfortable home for years to come. His school-aged daughters are living at home, and his son recently returned from a tour in Afghanistan with the Marines.  Prior to house repairs, it was very difficult for Mr. Acosta to get in and out of his own home, or even move about within his house. While Mr. Acosta is currently undergoing dialysis three times a week, he also makes time to volunteer at his local food bank on Wednesdays.
