Lunch Crew Team Description

Primary Function:
Prepare and serve lunch to the Saturday volunteers at the construction site/s.

Commitment:
Varies from four (4) to ten (10) hours per month depending upon the size of the serving group and the number of workers to feed. Each group works one Saturday per month.

Responsibilities:
  • Work with others in the serving group to provide an enjoyable & healthy meal.
  • Shop for and prepare the food. Transport the food to the work site by 11:30 AM on scheduled Saturday.
  • Set up tables/chairs and be ready to serve lunch at noon. Assist in serving as necessary.
  • Clean up the site and place trash in the proper receptacle. Put recycle items in the appropriate container.
  • Clean and return Habitat furnished jugs, coolers, serving utensils, etc. to the ReStore for use by the next serving group.
  • Sign the volunteer work sheet and record your volunteer hours, including shopping and preparation time.

    Qualifications and Skills:
  • You should enjoy cooking and working with others.
  • You need to be willing to coordinate with others in the group to prepare a well-balanced meal – entrees, vegetables, salads, drinks, deserts and condiments as required.
  • Become familiar with the “Information for Lunch Providers” hand-out.
