Public Relations Team Description
Media Liaison
Primary Function:
Interface with local newspapers, radio stations, television stations, etc. Reports to Public Relations Team Chair.
Commitment:
Approximately 4 hours per month for 1 year.
Responsibilities:
Attend Public Relations Committee meetings.
Develop contacts with local town and county newspapers, neighborhood newsletters, radio stations and television stations.
Distribute announcements, press releases, newsletters, etc. to contacts.
Place advertisements as needed by other committees, preferably at no charge or negotiate reduced rates.
Invite media contacts to Habitat events.
Other duties as assigned by committee chair.
Attend relevant workshops or training sessions approved by Executive Director.
Qualifications and Skills:
Good written and oral communication skills.
Experience dealing with media.
Outgoing, friendly personality.
Ability to work with diverse groups of people.
Dedication to the goals and mission of Habitat for Humanity.
