Site Host Description

Primary Function:
Develop long-term partnerships with religious congregations to initiate or increase donations and volunteers, leading to house sponsorships.

Commitment:
Approximately 4 hours per month for 1 year.

Responsibilities:
  • Arrive at worksite 1 hour before volunteers arrive. Discuss host set-up area with Construction Manager and decide who will give morning and lunchtime talks.
  • Set up tables for refreshments and organize sign-in materials before volunteers arrive.
  • Greet volunteers with a smile, ask them to sign in and provide with name tag. Answer questions politely and point out house and crew leaders. (Minors should have signed parental authorization form with them.) Sign witness blank on forms.
  • Give morning talk if that is what was agreed to with Construction Manager.
  • Organize sign-in sheets.
  • Periodically offer refreshments to workers. If it is very hot, do this more frequently. Refill supplies as needed.

    Qualifications and Skills:
  • Friendly, outgoing personality.
  • Previous experience as worksite volunteer.
  • Hard worker.
  • Ability to work with diverse groups of people.
  • Dedication to the goals and mission of Habitat for Humanity.
