Volunteers are the heart of Habitat for Humanity of Ventura County. Every year, thousands of volunteers lend a hand to build and rehabilitate homes in partnership with our Habitat Partner Families. Habitat for Humanity brings together individuals and teams of volunteers to support our mission to provide safe, decent and affordable housing in our communities.
Help a family in need move toward stability through homeownership. Volunteer opportunities are varied and range from construction to office support and committee work.
Our homes are built almost entirely by volunteers, both skilled and unskilled. Whether you’re a contractor or new to construction, we can use your help. Age 16+ on all home building sites. Work at the construction site, provide lunch for construction volunteers, or mobilize a “team building day,” provide financial support or in-kind donations, participate in special events, or share the Habitat story as a community advocate.
Habitat ReStore – A Discount Home Improvement Center
Our Habitat ReStore sells new and used home furnishings, home improvement items, and building materials to the public at 50-70% off retail prices. Volunteers organize and move merchandise on to the sales floor and assist customers. ReStore volunteers receive an additional 15% off on all inventory.
It takes more than nails and a hammer to eliminate substandard housing. We have all kinds of volunteer opportunities and can use your help in the office, at events, and in countless other ways.
Committees include Construction, Finance, Site Acquisition, Family Selection, Family Partners, and Resource Development (marketing & fundraising).
